MORE INFORMATION

Truganina Services

Below is a list of the practising doctors services available to their patients. Please contact us if you need further information.

We are now offering both face-to-face and telehealth appointments, but face-to-face are restricted to only patients with NO Flu-like symptoms.

If you have any flu like symptoms you can book a telehealth appointment in the first instance and get advice over a video or an audio call. Sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.

Also please note on some days some doctors are working from home so they can only do telehealth appointments on those days, if you are unsure please check with reception.

To ensure we run an efficient and effective practice, we have implemented a new fee policy from 1st August 2018 in regards to those who do not show up for their appointments or cancel late. If you are unable to make your appointment, please inform us a minimum of 2 hours prior to the appointment time to avoid fee.

Please ensure to complete personal details sections of medical forms prior to your visit to the Doctor.

BULK BILLING:

Since 1st July 2022 we have moved to private billing hence there will be out of pocket fee for most appointments. For the appointments that attract an out of pocket fee you will have to pay full fee on the day and claim any rebate back from Medicare. We can help you claim your Medicare rebate instantly if you have a plastic debit card linked to your savings/cheque account.

Please check our website fee section for more information.

Our Pathology collection room is provided by Dorevitch Pathology.
They are open as follows:
Monday to Friday - 8am to 12pm & 4pm - 8pm
Saturdays 8am - 2pm (by Appointment only)
Sundays 9am - 12pm (by Appointment only)
They accept pathology requests made for other pathologies.

The fee charged by pathology is completely independent of the medical centre.

Our Doctors may refer you for tests/x-rays/scans or onto a Specialist. It is your responsibility to check into any costs and cover any fees/charges these services may involve.

Many services from pathologies / radiologies and other providers attract a fee. This is not controlled by Palmers Medical Centre, please check with the relevant provider for their fee list.

At Palmers Medical Truganina we have the following Allied Health Services available on site for your convenience:

After Hours TimingsPlease enquire at the reception for fees and charges including for Allied Health staff or specialists prior to your appointment.

Our doctors are able to issue a medical certificate after an examination. You will therefore need to make an appointment for your medical certificate with your preferred doctor. The issuance of medical certificate and the dates on it is at the discretion of the treating doctor based on your discussion/presentation.

Since 1st July an out of pocket fee of $40 applies for all workcover consultations for any new workcover visits. All work cover consultations must be paid in full by the patient on the day of consultation and claim any applicable refund from their employer / insurer.

All existing workcover claims which were seen by one of the doctors at the practice prior to 1st July 2022 will continue to be charged to employer / insurer as per the arrangement in place prior to 1st July 2022.

Please enquire with our staff for an appointment for a Health Assessment and Care Plan.

This medical practice uses the Telephone Interpreter Service when required. We can arrange an “over the phone” service or an “on site” service with 48 hours notice.

Our staff DO NOT give results over the phone. If your results have come back and your Doctor needs to see you, our staff will call you and arrange an appointment for you. Alternatively, you may make an appointment for a few days after you have had your tests done to discuss the results with your Doctor.

Please note our reception staff do not have access to test results nor can they see if the results are back as they straight to the doctor.

Our Doctors are unable to take telephone calls while attending to patients, if you require to speak to your Doctor, our staff will take a message and the Doctor will call you back, usually at the end of the session. At the moment, due to privacy issues, our Doctors are not able to discuss personal information via email or text.

Our Practice is committed to Preventive Care. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventive health services appropriate for your care.
